
Strictly Functional Pottery National 2006
LOCATION
The SFPN will again be in the beautiful, sunny atrium at Southern
Market Center in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
CALENDAR
- Application deadline: January 10, 2006 (postmark)
- Notification begins: March 15, 2006
- Accepted work due: Ship by April 7, 2006
- Exhibition dates: April 22 - May 21, 2006.
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to residents of the 50 United States.
- Submitted work produced after January, 2004.
- Size many not exceed 30 inches in any dimension or 20 pounds in weight.
RULES
- Enter up to three functional pieces or sets.
- All exhibited work MUST BE FOR SALE.
- Retail price: up to $600 per piece or set.
- Specific piece accepted MUST be available for the entire exhibition.
- We will exhibit NO substitute pieces.
- Work will be disqualified if it is not the same piece in the accepted
slide.
- Work must arrive in time for the opening.
- Accepted work which displays poor craftmanship or fails to perform
the function for which it is intended will be withdrawn from the exhibit at
the juror’s discretion.
- Non-adherence to rules may be cause for disqualification.
ENTRY FEE
- $20, non-refundable.
- Make check out to Market House Craft Center.
COMMISSION
- A 35% commission will be charged on all sales.
FREIGHT AND INSURANCE
- The artist is responsible for freight and insurance on the work to and from
Lancaster, PA. The organizers are responsible for insurance during the exhibition.
SLIDE REQUIREMENTS
- Submit only one slide per work entered.
- Slides must be 35mm color in cardboard or plastic mounts, and should be
mailed in a sturdy plastic slide protector.
- Write directly on each slide - use no labels or tape! You may use
pen or sharp pencil.
- Label top of each slide with: the last 4 digits of your social security
#, the title of work (No name on slide) A, B, or C to conform with
your entry and an arrow to show top of slide.
- Label bottom of each slide with: specific medium, dimensions (HxWxD)
CHECKLIST FOR MAIL SLIDES:
PHOTOGRAPHY
- MHCC reserves the right to photograph works, and use submitted photo materials
of accepted pieces for the purposes of documentation, education, publicity,
promotion and future grant proposals. Slides of accepted work will not be
returned.
