Strictly Functional Pottery National 2008

LOCATION

The SFPN will be in historic downtown Lancaster, PA at Kevin Lehman's Pottery, and at Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA.

CALENDAR

• Application deadline: January 10, 2008 (postmark)
• Notification begins: March 13, 2008
• Accepted work due: Ship by April 4, 2008
• Exhibition dates Lancaster: April 19 - May 18, 2008
• Exhibition dates Wayne: May 27- June 27, 2008

ELIGIBILITY

• Open to residents of the 50 United States.
• Submitted work produced after January, 2006.
• Size many not exceed 30 inches in any dimension or 20 pounds in weight.

RULES

• Enter up to three functional pieces or sets.
• All exhibited work MUST BE FOR SALE.
• Retail price: up to $600 per piece or set.
• Specific piece accepted MUST be available for both exhibitions.
• We will exhibit NO substitute pieces.
• Work will be disqualified if it is not the same piece in the accepted slide.
• Work must arrive in time for the opening.
• Accepted work which displays poor craftmanship or fails to perform the function for which it is intended will be withdrawn from the exhibit.

ENTRY FEE

• $30, non-refundable.
• Make payable to Market House Craft Center.

COMMISSION

• A 35% commission will be charged on all sales.

FREIGHT AND INSURANCE

• The artist is responsible for freight and insurance on the work to and from SFPN. The organizers are responsible for insurance during the exhibition.

DIGITAL IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

• Submit only one image per work entered.
• Save as jpg at 300 dpi.
• Save each image as ID number and entry letter. (ex. 4777A.jpg, 4777B.jpg, 4777c.jpg)
• No text directly on images, please.
• Label CD with your name and ID number.
• CD will not be returned.

SLIDES ACCEPTED: Extra $25 fee

• Label top of each slide with: the last 4 digits of your social security #, A, B, or C to conform with your entry and an arrow to show top of slide.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST:

• A stamped ($.64 in postage) self-addressed business envelope (no smaller than 4x9) for notification and return of slides, any. Put your
• Your check or money order for $30, payable to the Market House Craft Center. A fee of $20 will be charged for returned checks.
• Please do not use oversized envelopes (larger than 5x7.)
